Oh, me too! My house is filled with treasures from nature. I call my decorating style "Louis XVI's Beach House". My next door neighbours call it "French Country Surf and Turf"! I have antique and reproduction painted Louis XV and XVI-style furniture, twig tables, tree-stump tables, shells, coral, starfish, minerals, antlers, fossils, etc.
Love the glass pieces in your arrangement, Ann. Are they insulators? I remember seeing this last time I was in your home, and commenting on the great nest, too. I'm so tickled every time I hear someone express appreciation for antlers or horns (two different things, ya know). It's been a challenge my entire marriage to limit the number my hubby wants to display. He is reminded occasionally that "a man's prize trophy is his widow's first garage sale item." I actually like them, but if he knew that, I'd be drowning in them.
I have a very similar arrangement. I love the mixture of those things. I just discovered your blog through Love Where You Live blog. I think I will be looking around some more. We visited Fredericksburg a few years ago when we visited San Antonio. I read that you are selling your home and starting a new one. Lot of decisions, but what fun!
