I have had so much fun decorating my feather tree this week. In the past I have adorned it very methodically, choosing very specific ornaments. For you antique and vintage Christmas ornament collectors, you will know what
I mean -just spun cotton fruits, or just glass sugared fruits, just old Santa scrap, and one year, just red, silver and blue glass bead garlands and ornaments for a patriotic tree......
However, I always love those trees I see just dripping in ornaments of every kind. So I began to hang randomly and tried for the gobs of ornaments, the dripping in ornaments look, and I can't seem to get there. Here I was thinking I had to stop collecting old ornaments, and now I think I need more. Hmmm...always another good reason to go antiquing!
Still, I love my tree and all the ornaments collected over the years. Here are a few closer shots of some of my favorites.....
So there you have it - my feather tree and the beginning of Christmas decorating at Hill Country House.
Moving on with enjoying the season.......
some days I think I should post.....about something, anything. After all, I started a blog, right?

There is so much beauty to share and our town is especially charming this time of year.
I find myself thinking "I SHOULD" instead of " I WANT" to take photos and post about goings on about town.....and then I remember why I started this blog. I started it for fun and inspiration and connecting with others of like interests.
Not to add more "shoulds" to my life.

Call me a party pooper , but the spirit just isn't moving me to work on my blog much right now.
Instead, I am giving myself permission this month to
